The Cottage Co-Op Café
Carrig Energy Consultancy are Project Managers for Energy Communities Tipperary Co-operative (ECTC) securing 30% grant funding from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI ) for our client under the Community Grants. We installed 8kW of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels to the roof of the Cottage. 14 panels south facing, and 12 panels west facing making the most out of the daily Sunshine. These panels are generating electricity that help offset the running costs for heating and cooking facilities.
The savings made are used for staffing, also with Covid hitting the hospitality so hard, reduced energy bill are greatly appreciated by the Cottage development group. The PV panels also generate energy awareness in the community and are a benefit in establishing future energy projects in the community, and neighbouring parishes as the cottage gets so many visitors from all over Tipperary and Ireland
