Director/Project Manager

Marcella Maher Keogh

Marcella Maher Keogh is a project coordinator running SEAI Funded projects since 2012. Working with community projects and commercial partners. In more recent years with Deep Retrofit projects with companies such as Energy Communities Tipperary Co-Op, Drombane Upperchurch Energy Team, Home Energy Grants and Building Retrofit Management.

Marcella has a Degree in Architectural Technology in Sustainable Development from Waterford Institute Of Technology and has worked in many architectural firms across the world in Australia, New York, London, Dublin where she spent 7 years with O’Mahony Pike.

During the Celtic Tiger Crash Marcella trained as a Building Energy Rating assessor and set up her own BER business in Tipperary. After getting involved with a local Energy team In Drombane who were working on initiatives to keep local young people employed and reduce the amount of energy costs being exported outside the local areas Marcella‘s career has taken her into Project management and Energy consultancy service within SEAI funded retrofit schemes for the last 11 years, and has spoken on these initiatives in Paris, Normandy and Brussels as part of an EU Life project.

Marcellas role in these schemes has been pivotal in assisting SEAI and the Department of the Environment develop Community Energy Schemes assisting local homeowners. business owners and community groups obtain funding for energy upgrades to their homes and buildings. Marcella also assisted Energy Communities Tipperary Co-operative to win Best Community Energy Initiative Award 2017 and have ECTC nominated for Inspirational Energy Community in 2022 , finishing runner up at the annual SEAI Sustainable Energy Awards.

During her career Marcella’s education has continued and expanded during her career and has obtained a certificate from DIT in MEnS Professional Skill in NZEB, also a Certificate in Energy Efficient Buildings Systems LIT & Kompetenz Zentrum, Germany.

Marcella had also attended Lecture Series across 2019 -2020, gaining qualifications in Fundamentals of Energy Renovation for Traditional Buildings in conjunction with The Heritage Council and SEAI.

This has enabled Carrig Energy Consultancy to gain more knowledge and understanding on how to successfully renovate the traditionally built building stock which makes up more than one sixth of Irish building stock.

Marcella has successfully managed 20 plus SEAI funded projects since 2012, with every milestone claim and every deadline met for each project.

Director/Project Coordinator

Martin Keogh

Martin has been working as a Project Coordinator for almost 8 years with Carrig Energy Consultancy. Martin has been heavily involved with coordinating the  Deep Retrofit Programs and Better Energy Community programs with SEAI. honing his knowledge and customer relation skills. Martin is currently studying part-time in TUS for a Higher Diploma in Retrofit Management.

He has up-skilled with marketing programs for online marketing and developed our CRM system to streamline our administrational department. He has become proficient in operating this system for both customer retrofit progress modules and administration and finance modules.

Martin has 13 years’ experience in the retail management sector where he has developed excellent customer service skills and worked on hygiene systems management and implementation. He is proficient in cash and accounts management and has developed motivational skills and leadership skills in this very competitive sector.

Martin also has 12 years’ experience in the sports and leisure industry, and over 20 years’ experience as a swimming coach which requires excellent strategic management skills, organizational development and people management skills.

Gaining a strong technical knowledge in this area and he is an ambitious and adaptable person with a strong work ethic. Martin has developed an exceptional project management skills and is a detail oriented project coordinator with a proven track record in achieving adaptable business targets within a budget controlled environment.

ABOUT US

European Projects

Marcella Maher Keogh of Carrig Energy Consultancy is a key partner in the One Stop Shop Renovation Co-Op LIFE Project in Europe. Their mission across this project is to map out, analyse, transform and integrate existing services provided by the partners and ultimately offer more efficient and holistic solutions and services.

The initiative aims to empower citizen led energy cooperatives and communities enabling them to learn from OSR-Co-Op and effectively implement the models that Marcella has helped them develop. The communities will have a clear toolkit and guidance on how to set up and become a citizen led renovation one stop shop.

Marcella has spoken at conferences across Europe in Normandy, Paris and Brussels on the One Stop Shop Renovation Co-op project launch and has a pivotal role in its inception and development.
